  • Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous safety conditions and environmental risks to monitor and ensure compliance of statutory and legal requirement

  • Conduct regular site survey and audit on equipment and machinery to identify unsafe conditions or inadequate procedures

  • Provide problem solving, analysis, training, coaching and leadership to plant and team safety resources related to safety & ergonomic improvements

  • Lead and developing action plans and conducting follow-up audits to address relevantsite Safety issues and adherence to applicable policies and procedures, including improvement and compliance work

  • Conduct / support incident investigations, review incident report for completeness and accuracy and recommend effective preventive measures

  • Establish processes to ensure health and safety policies are fully embedded in all work practices across the organization

  • Monitor and report on health and safety performance based on corporate / statutory requirements

  • Partner with all functional area management on creating the right environment via safety audits and ergonomic conditions reviews

  • Counsel employees and management in solving problems that impact the safety of the workplace

  • Conduct periodic HSE Committee meetings; ensure Minutes are circulated and Action items are closed in a timely manner

  • Develop and implement HSE training along with measures of effectiveness

  • Coach and mentor direct report


  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or any related discipline

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in compliance with OSHA regulations is required

  • Good knowledge & understanding of safety & environmental management systems

  • A registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower

  • Certified Fire Safety Manager

  • Professional Certification preferred, CSP, OSHT or CPE, FSM (Six Sigma preferred)

  • Awareness of ISO 14001 and OHS 18001

  • Sound working knowledge of hazard assessments, emergency response planning and the ability to develop & deliver effective training

  • Sound working knowledge of incident investigation processes and requirements.

  • Sound working knowledge of principles of ergonomics in an industrial setting
