Cummins Korea was established in 1991 solely thanks to the investment of Cummins, Inc. Cummins has supplied engines to STX Corp. since 1981 under an engine assembly production license contract. In 1988, it became the first company in Korea to supply engines to construction equipment manufacturers. With the long history of supplying marine engines, Cummins has played a significant role in the development of large high-performing vessels and the modernization of fishing vessel equipment as well.

Cummins provides engines for large trucks, buses, and construction equipment like excavators and loaders. We supply these engines to OEM partners of construction equipment, commercial vehicle, and marine application manufacturers such as Hyundai Heavy Industries, Zyle Daewoo Bus, Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicle Company, and Doosan Infracore. We also provide aftermarket support and tech support for marine engine building.

The goal of Cummins Korea is to bring engine technology of Cummins to the diversifying and advancing equipment market so that the industry can promptly meet the needs of engine buyers. This is an exciting opportunity in Seoul for Account Specialist. Cummins Korea in Seoul is where Account Specialist Builds on and maintains existing relationships by supporting the global sales (account) team in selling the organization's products and services to an assigned set of customers or a geographic region.

Thinking beyond your desk includes:

  • Supports global sales (account) teams in the selling of the organization’s products and services.

  • Supports the global sales (account) teams to make the strategy and meet their goals of increasing sales within assigned accounts

  • Responsible for supporting the account team in developing and maintaining positive customer relations.

  • Coordinates internal communication and interfaces with the account team.

  • Provides information to the sales team to support the negotiation and implementation of contracts with accounts.

  • Assists in organization of customer visits and negotiations.

  • Potential to Global Account management skills (Construction)

  • Gathering, understanding, and work for voice of the customer (VOC)

  • Market and business analysis, planning skills

  • Work closely with Off-highway Global Accounts leader and plant managers

  • Review and update the related contracts

  • Communicate with plant and order management for monthly and annual demand about allocation, obsolescence and swap

  • Manage the parts business including annual pricing, revision tracking, etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Competencies

Education, Licenses, Certifications and Experience

  • College, university, or equivalent degree in engineering, marketing, sales or a related subject required or equivalent industry experience

  • Prefer engineering background

Skills

  • Gathering, understanding, and work for voice of the customer (VOC)

  • Understanding market trend, analyzing market and business, and having planning skills

  • Communication, presentation and sales negotiation Project management

  • Fundamental English and Korean skills in writing and speaking.

  • Skillful for MS office.

  • Financial Understanding - Ability to analyze data and perform basic calculations such as Gross Margin, NPV, discounting analysis, price elasticity, and breakeven. Able to formulate a business case to support an idea.

  • Education, Licenses, Certifications

  • College, University, or equivalent degree in Engineering required. Strong consideration will also be given to candidates who have equivalent Engineering experience and are also working towards an Engineering degree.

  • Basic relevant work experience required.

  • Strong problem solver and prompt decision marker

  • Proven customer management skills

  • Team player and prompt execution capability

  • Great communication, negotiation skills
